Second episode of my look at the new Star Trek series. It’s short and late, but here are my thoughts on Picard Episode 2. Lots of world building but not much in earth shattering reveals unlike episode one.
Tom Holland and Will Smith rocking their newest roles as a Nerd scientist and James Bond Knockoff respectively team up together for an amusing caper with some oddly pacificist undertones. Its fun, but there is some odd philosophy that you will want to keep an eye on.
Today we start a brand new series of podcasts, a weekly breakdown of the new Star Trek series on CBS, Picard. This will be posted as close as feasible to Thursday each week when the new episode airs, and will discuss the series on a 2 week delay so as not to spoil it for people watching live.
In short, the new episode features many of the usual offenders when it comes to speculative fiction in an atheist world setting, with the new addition of a plot designed to make the creation of life a human achievement via advanced AI. Not recommended for younger individuals due to obscured lines between good and evil and morally ambiguous.
I saw Knives Out this week, and absolutely LOVED it. It’s one of my favorite movies I have seen so far this year, and worthy of joining Hercule Poirot and Sherlock Holmes, featuring the suave Benoit Blanc. Absolute winner of a film!
The Polymath Roundtable – Episode 16 – The Witcher Condemned
You know, I really tried to like it. I badly wanted to like it, but the salacious content just is far too much to ignore. More information in todays episode.
Today we talk two of my favorite cop dramas, NCIS with the amazing Gibbs and Blue Bloods with the one and only Tom Selleck. TL;DL, NCIS 3.5-4 shields due to bloody content, Blue Bloods 5 shields due to amazing characters and representation of Christians.
It has made a splash in the first few weeks of the year, and now we are thrilled to sit down and talk about…. 1917. Not suitable for young or faint of heart, 1917 is one of the most gruesomely beautiful films that we have seen in a very very long time. 5 stars, definitely going in my library.
This week we take a look at kids shows, specifically ones involving monsters. Primarily we are looking at Pokemon and Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia. Short answer: I would take Trollhunters every time, Pokemon just does not resonate with me.
